My name is Erin and I have lived the better part of my life in Windsor, Ontario, a Canadian city just across the river from Detroit, Michigan. I am a lawyer by day, a wife and mother of two, and now an aspiring food blogger. I love skiing, reading, board games, football and a good glass of scotch. Above all else, I love food. Eating, cooking, hosting…everything about food!
My great grandmother was a wonderful cook, back in an age where meals were made from scratch, food was rarely processed and home cooks took the time to make something special for family and friends. Her favourite saying when she cooked was that her food was ‘flavoured with love’. By that she meant ‘flavoured with butter’.
Please join me on this culinary adventure. I will be posting the recipes that I love and blogging about my exploits in the kitchen. I strive to bring home cooking back to the basics. Whenever possible, I avoid processed foods. In the summer months I strive to use as much produce as possible from our raised garden beds. I have no aversion to cooking with fat- cream, butter, duck fat, you name it. I enjoy making meals from scratch, spending the time to create something special for family and friends, and to create something that is truly greater than the sum of its parts. While not all of my culinary endeavours result in something scrumptious, they are always flavoured with love and usually with butter!
